This is a gorgeous Santo Domingo made 5-strand necklace by Mary Calabaza. The handmade heishi beads which make up this piece are turquoise, pipestone, melon shell and jet. It is silky smooth to the touch, like petting the underbelly of a snake (if you would so choose to do such a thing). Finished with sterling silver cones and a hook-eye clasp, the quality and pattern of the beads truly show off her remarkable talent as an artist.
