These are hand-painted Santo Domingo made earrings. The Santo Domingo artisans live in New Mexico and are well-known for their hand-rolled, heishi-style beads, used for the most beautiful multi-strand necklaces available. These are very nicely done, with not only colorful painting, but etched feather like carving into the bone. They are accented with a turquoise nugget and a heishi bead of coral and jet.
