Navajo Yei Ring - Size 8

# US-1233

Part of our old pawn collection, this is a vintage late '60s - early '70s, Navajo yei ring, attributed to artist, Helen Long. The yei is a spiritual intermediary between the gods and man, and can be male or female. Heads which are square depict female figures (as is the case, here), while rounded heads are for males. Helen Long's pieces are known for minute details, such as the slight foot up and forward, as well as animation in her arms. This is a highly collectible piece.
